Polarimetric Imaging vs. Conventional Imaging: Evaluation of Image Contrast in Fog
نویسندگان
چکیده
We compare conventional intensity imaging against different modes of polarimetric by evaluating the image contrast images taken in a controlled foggy environment. A small-scale fog chamber has been designed and constructed to create necessary division-of-focal-plane camera linear polarization linearly polarized light source used for performing experiments with light. In order evaluate modes, Michelson samples materials relative their background calculated. The higher contrast, easier it is detect segment targets interest that are surrounded fog. It quantitatively demonstrated present an improvement compared situations studied.

Long-range polarimetric imaging through fog.
We report an experimental implementation of long-range polarimetric imaging through fog over kilometric distance in real field atmospheric conditions. An incoherent polarized light source settled on a telecommunication tower is imaged at a distance of 1.3 km with a snapshot polarimetric camera including a birefringent Wollaston prism, allowing simultaneous acquisition of two images along orthog...

Introduction: Electrical Impedance Tomography (EIT) is a real time and minimal invasive imaging modality for detection of lesions in tissues even when their structures show no changes. Early detection of lesion with EIT depends on difference between electrical impedance of targeted tissue and its surroundings. Therefore, finding a contrast agent for EIT that increase this diffe...

Background: Conventional echocardiography and tissue Doppler imaging have been highlighted to diagnose diastolic and systolic heart dysfunction. We aimed to compare tissue Doppler imaging with conventional echocardiography to diagnose heart dysfunctions in diabetes mellitus type 1 (DMT1) patients. <s...
متن کاملContrast enhancement in polarimetric imaging with correlated noise fluctuations
We compare the measurement precision of a polarimetric camera to that of a simple intensity camera when imaging a partially polarized light-mark embedded in an intense and partially polarized background. We show that the gain in measurement precision while using a polarimetric camera is maximized when the noise fluctuations on the two polarimetric channels are significantly correlated. Further,...
